These 2 children’s Bibles are my top picks for children’s Bibles. I do not recommend that these replace the full Bible. With young children, it is important to read even just a few verses of the Bible each day with them as this is the inspired Word of God whereas a children’s Bible is a non-inspired paraphrase.

Here are my reasons why I recommend reading the Day by Day Bibles alongside your full Bible for younger children:

Covers all ages for the whole family along with full Bible.
Designed for beginning readers.
Chronological, creating a great overview of the whole Bible story.
Some themes that may be difficult for young children are omitted such as sexual scenes or graphic violence.
Readings in the Begin-to-Read Bible parallel readings in the Kid’s Bible for older children or if you want to expand on what you have read.
Readings in both Day by Day Bibles point to the full passage in your own Bible.

Again, do not read these instead of the full Bible but as an overview before reading an appropriate length chapter in the full Bible. If you are familiar with the Word of God, you will see very quickly that this is not an adequate replacement for the Bible. It is simply an aid to introduce a new passage and to highlight the order of events in the Bible. Very young children may only read a verse or two in the full Bible each day with you while older children may be ready for a full chapter or 2.
