25-Day Beautiful Christmas Bible Reading Plan
Required Books
The month of December has a way of rushing right past us, doesn’t it? Between end-of-year activities, Christmas events and an endless to-do list, it’s easy to reach Christmas morning and realise we spent more time managing tasks than preparing our hearts. If you’ve ever felt that quiet ache, you’re not alone. A simple, family-friendly Christmas Bible Reading Plan can be such a gift during the Christmas season.
A 25-day plan doesn’t add pressure, it actually lifts the burden. Instead of hunting for the perfect devotional each day, you have a delightful pathway laid out that helps you and your children trace the story of Jesus from God’s promise of a Saviour to His fulfilment. It becomes a daily touchpoint that reorients your home and your family around the story of stories. The life of Jesus Christ and our part in His plan is what truly matters.
Not only will this Christmas Bible Reading Plan prepare your hearts for celebrating Jesus’ birth on Christmas Day, it will give you a renewed appreciation of God’s big plan for all of us. Jesus was there at the very beginning, before the creation of the world.
Christmas is the celebration of the coming of our Savior to earth as a baby; Jesus, fully God and now fully man. From the first whispers of the coming Messiah in Genesis to the song of the angels proclaiming His birth in the Gospel of Luke and through to Revelation, your whole family will discover together the true meaning of Christmas.
Starting on the 1st December, we will read from The Kingdom of God Bible Storybook each day, as well as related passages in the Holy Bible. We will see the true story of Christmas unfold in God’s word as we read selections starting from the beginning of the Bible in Genesis, all the way through to the last book of Revelation. If you miss a day, just pick up where you left off. The goal isn’t performance—it’s presence. His presence with us, and your family’s presence with one another.
At the end of each chapter in The Kingdom of God Bible Storybook, you will find discussion questions, a short prayer and a Gospel Glimpse. These make beautiful connections between the Old and New Testaments, showing how the readings relate to Jesus, who He is, and all He has done for us.

If you miss the December 1st start date, don’t worry. You can start instead on the 13th of December and read twice a day with your family for a morning and evening family time. This schedule will also have you finishing the 25th reading on Christmas Day.
Now, let me encourage you. If you have never done this before with your children and they are not used to being read aloud to, you may be met with some resistance, especially from older children. Try not to be discouraged and try not to get frustrated with your children. You want this to be a time of creating fond memories for your family. Fraught emotions will only lead to the opposite.
Maybe your older children will prefer to read out loud to the family rather than being read to. Take turns, with different family members reading to the rest of the family if this works better for your family. Create warm associations like making a hot chocolate or egg nog, providing an edible treat and warm rugs or snuggles on the couch.
Finally, don’t underestimate the quiet discipleship that happens when your children watch you open the Bible in the middle of a busy season. Your willingness to pause, just for a little while in the midst of busy days, teaches them that God’s Word is worth making room for. This simple plan becomes a way of grounding ourselves in a renewed vision saying, “Jesus, You are worth it and we love you”. What a beautiful legacy to pass on to our children.
So gather your books, your Bible and your family around the Christmas tree and follow along as we journey together toward Bethlehem. May your December be filled with the real Christmas story, full of the Holy Spirit, peace and the abiding joy of Christ.
